What is a good way to clean blackened/mildewed rubber seals on my refrigerator and freezer door?
You know. . . . the rubber gaskets that go around my refrigerator door are real yukky and I want to get them back to bright white. What is the best way to clean without ruining the rubber?
a bleach and water solution
use a product called bam w/ bleach. . . and a mr. clean eraser they work great together the mold will also come off if you use diluted bleach and hot water. . . have fun
tooth brush, and bakig soda and water, make it kindof pasty, so it sticks to the rubber. . .
if all else fails, use bleach, that’s my motto lol
I don’t know but when someone answers your question, then I WANT to know.
ALL THE ANSWERS ARE GREAT; & THEY WORK, BLEACH & HOT H2O; ALSO THE BAKING SODA WORKS, TOO; I BUY THAT ORANGE- ALL PURPOSE CLEANER FOR THAT, JUST SPRAY IT ON & LET IT SIT AWHILE, COMES RIGHT OFF, & ALOT OF OTHER CLEANING JOBS- STOVE, ETC.
bleach usually works, or even some sos pads
Listen to me I am a mother of three (shhh. . . don’t tell anyone) My time is valuable and if you’re like me you don’t waste your time cleaning that mildew with Clorox or baking soda it will not eliminate it. Use MEAN GREEN cleaner it is inexpensive and you can pick it up at your local store like walmart. Your will be amazed, if you like seeing that mildew and crap just run off like water. You will be telling everyone how good this stuff is.
In my opinion. . . I don’t think you should waste all that time and elbow grease scrubbing. I think you should just go out and buy new ones, they are not that expensive. And you will save more MONEY having your refrigerator/freezer keep more cold in and run less. Good Luck
i use windex or a generic window cleaner. it works real well for me. it does not ruin the rubber seal like some things do
The lady that said use MEAN GREEN is right! That stuff is a miracle worker, I use it as an all-purpose cleaner more then anything and on almost everything—kitchen, bathroom, tile floors, patio furniture, boat, everything! Best all-purpose cleaner on the market.
