Are there side effects to working with phenol-cresol reagent?

i was working in the lab with phenol-cresol reagent and broke into hives shortly after. can this be attributed to the reagent? has it been proven to cause allergic reactions just by inhalation and no contact?

    read all about it here. . . if u were in a college and the professor let u mess with this without an organic mask. . . i’d slap him around a few times.
